The Hotel

The building that houses the reception area, lounges and dining room used to be a farmhouse that dates back to the late 1930’s. While a few of the rondavels remain, ten modern rooms have been added to create a bouquet of six luxury suites overlooking the garden and pool, four hotel suites, seven family suites and three rondavels. All the rooms, including the original rondavels of the guest farm, have been refurbished. Comfortable accommodation is the cornerstone of the Hotel, beautiful rooms provide intimate privacy for guests, a completely relaxing experience in absolutely awesome surroundings.

The Hotel has an old fashioned charm and provides the service of a bygone era. The Hotel overlooks a large garden with colourful roses, lilies, clivias and has a serene pool. The Hotel is named after the Vale of Avoca, an idyllic spot in Ireland. The Vale of Avoca is situated in beautiful County Wicklow and inspired Thomas Moore’s poem “The Meeting of the Waters”.

Location

Approaching from the South you will come across a large roundabout. Proceed over two cross roads to a smaller roundabout, then proceed for 11 km to find the Avoca Vale Country Hotel on your right. Approaching from the North you will find the Hotel 10,3 km after passing through the Hendrik Verwoerd Tunnels.

Dining

The dining room in the Hotel offers an a la carte menu every evening and a delicious Sunday luncheon. Enjoy delectable meals from starters through mains and including desserts. The hotel bar/pub offers quality pub fare and a joyous atmosphere.

Guests can also enjoy light meals, cakes, teas, coffees and alcoholic beverages on the Hotel’s veranda or on the beautifully manicured gardens.

Conferences

The conference room is next to the bar overlooking the garden and pool. A double sliding door gives private access to the conference room.

Theatre (Lecture) Style: 20 - 100 persons
Conference Style: 8 - 48 persons
U-shape Setup: 20 - 50 persons
Classroom Style: 10 - 50 persons
Family (Cafeteria) Style: 12 - 50 persons
